Earth Day Virtual March FAQ

About the Earth Day Virtual March

An assault on many of America's species, including us, is underway and moving fast. The Virtual March to Leave NO Species Behind is an online attempt to get the attention of our representatives in Congress and let them know we don’t support the anti-environment, anti-human health, anti-wildlife wildlife agneda promoted by Representatives Tom DeLay, Richard Pombo and their Congressional cronies. With every new marcher, Congress will receive a letter notification that stresses the importance of protecting America from representatives that put the financial wellbeing of campaign contributors above the wellbeing entire country.

Text of the letter to Congress:

Dear Representative,

As we approach the 36th anniversary of Earth Day, I have joined Care2.com and Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund in a Virtual March to Leave NO Species Behind. Through my participation in this march, I hope to remind you of your responsibility to protect wildlife, its habitat and the environment we share. To that end please fight against legislative efforts by Representatives Tom DeLay, Richard Pombo and others that would: open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to destructive oil drilling; allow Big Oil to drill off our coastlines -- especially those in California and Florida; sell our national parks to greedy developers; gut the Endangered Species Act which acts as the safety net for so many species on the brink of extinction; weaken laws that prevent mercury and pesticide pollution; and efforts to sell other public lands to timber and mining interests.

Thank you,

Picking a Virtual Sign

Because this is a virtual march, you can select a virtual sign to show America you care about our collective future. Either select one of ours, or be creative and come up with one on your own by selecting the white sign and entering your text.

Winning an Activist Award

The Virtual March to Leave NO Species Behind needs your help to spread across the country, so as a special reward, we're awarding you an activist "ticket" for each of your friends that registers. Starting the week of Valentine's day, and each week thereafter, one activist ticketholder will win an iPod Nano with a custom wildlife wrapper. The more friends that register, the more award tickets you receive! !
